The companies described by Pacific Channel have been through or are going through application for exemption available under the New Zealand Securities Act (Local Authority and Other Venture Capital Schemes) Exemption Notice 2003 through the Economic Development Agencies of NZ (EDANZ). The Exemption Notice 2003 lowers the cost of raising capital for small enterprises, enabling companies meeting certain criteria not to issue a prospectus. Registration requires a risk disclosure statement that the Securities Commission requires to be provided prior to potential investors being exposed to businesses seeking investment. Androgenix Limited: a New Zealand biotechnology company that applies genomic technology for the development of products that apply to the global livestock industry. Pacific Channel was seed co-founder of Androgenix for which it raised NZ$1m in the last quarter of 2006.

Androgenix will seek expressions of interest in its planned second round of investment funding, in the first quarter of 2008. Androgenix intends to use investor funds to finalise a high value animal reproduction product that will be commercialised globally.
