Tim van Vliet is Principal and Southeast Asia Manager. He’s an entrepreneur and investor with experience in building and financing ventures across Asia and Europe.
He co-founded INSEACT, aSingapore-based agritech company that converts palm oil by-products into insect protein for aquaculture feed. The company raised over US$1.5 million in seed funding and expanded operations across Southeast Asia before being acquired in 2023.
Earlier in his career, Tim founded Holland Milk, a Beijing based infant nutrition company that developed and distributed European dairy products in China, and an e-commerce business focused on office furniture, which he established while still a student.
After selling INSEACT, he joined ENGIE’s early stage venture building arm ENGIE Factory as Vice President of Venture Scale, where he built and invested in early-stage climate and energyventures.
Tim is a dual Dutch / Samoan national, holds a business degrees from Amsterdam University of Applied Sciences, a Chinese Language degree from Tsinghua University and an MBA from INSEAD.
